The price of chicken is still high and is around S/12 per kilogram in the markets of Metropolitan Lima; however, it has registered a slight setback compared to the almost S/13 reached last week.
In the northern part of the capital, in the Santa Rosita market in the district of Comas, the meat of this bird is sold for S/12 per kg; while in the Villanorte de Los Olivos market it is sold at S/11.8 per kg, according to a team of The Republic.
For its part, in the Limoncillo del Rímac market, in Aurora del cercado de Lima and in Chacra Colorada de Breña the price is also S/12 per kg.
It should be noted that last week the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), Nelly Paredes, estimated that from the first week of May, chicken prices would begin to decrease gradually. This because the offer would be regularized after the affectation suffered due to bird flu.
According to Midagri, wholesale chicken was sold at S/8.42 per kilogram and that price was maintained for the third consecutive day. In total, 1,829 tons were sold, a figure slightly higher than the 1,664 tons on Friday, April 28.
