The president of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, this afternoon reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting private investments, including mining, respecting the current legal framework and legal stability.
“My government is committed to responsible, modern and sustainable mining, both socially and environmentally. We want a solid mining sector, with investments that generate employment and opportunities for our population, ”said the president during the ceremony of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Between) and the articulated work in favor of the vulnerable population in Arequipa.
In this sense, the head of state pointed out that the current government is committed to mining that respects the environment and the rights of the communities.
“[Las operaciones mineras] They must be given without polluting the water basins, without polluting the rivers, there must be a social and environmental commitment ”, added Castillo.
Likewise, the president recalled that there are various social conflicts that they have inherited from previous administrations and, in view of this, dialogue will continue to be used as a tool to prevent and resolve conflicts.
“The government will summon the business unions, to regional and local authorities, and to communities to discuss these issues and reach consensus for the benefit of all Peruvians. We want projects to be developed with guarantee and responsibility ”, he concluded.
