Congress approves declaring June 7 a national holiday

The Plenary of the Congress of the Republic approved today, Thursday, April 27, to declare National holiday on June 7 in commemoration of the Battle of Arica and the Day of the Peruvian Flag.

The ruling on Bill 3132 had the support of 91 congressmen in the first vote, and with 82 votes in favor, it was possible to exonerate the substitute text from the second vote. Now it is up to the Executive Power to make it official through its publication in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The autograph modifies Legislative Decree No. 713 that consolidates the legislation on paid breaks for workers subject to the private activity labor regime. In this line, it proposes to include June 7 as a holiday among the 12 that currently exist.

According to the initiative of Roberto Chiabra, This non-working and paid national holiday includes all public institutions and entities in the country.
