ArcelorMittal buys the Condesa Group and becomes the leading producer of steel tubes in Europe

The Condesa Group has several plants in the Basque Country and Germany, which from now on will be part of the multinational ArcelorMittal.

ArcelorMittal has concluded the purchase of Grupo Condesa, after having obtained the approval of the European Competition Authorities, as reported by the multinational steel company.

Since last November 19, ArcelorMittal has become the sole shareholder of Condesa, with a 100% stake in its capital.

In this way, the plants of Zalain Transformed (Lesaka), Zalain machining (Lesaka), Precision Profiles (Berrioplano), Countess Fabril (Legutio) y SRW Black Forest tube factory (Germany) are integrated into the ArcelorMittal group, within the organizational structure of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Europe.

This division produces tubes for the construction, energy, industry and automotive sectors in its production units in the Czech Republic, France, Poland and Romania.

With the acquisition of the Condesa group, ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Europe becomes the Europe’s leading producer of steel pipes.

With a presence in Europe and a team of 610 people, Grupo Condesa was founded in Arrasate in 1954 by the Iribecampos family.

Currently, it has plants in Legutio, Lesaka, Berrioplano and in the German town of Altensteig-Walddorf.
