IV Congress of Amazon Entrepreneurs-CEA will be held in Iquitos

This Tuesday, April 25, the IV Congress of Amazon Entrepreneurs-CEA with the participation of Jorge Chávez Silvano, regional governor of Loreto; Samuel Dyer, president of the Pro Amazonia Group; Ricardo Boria, president of the Loreto Chamber of Commerce and Antonio Pulgar Lucas, president of the Amazon Commonwealth.

“This is an initiative that has been developed 4 times and what it tries to do is to generate a plan for the Amazon to have greater development, that we have a clear vision of what we want to achieve with 62% of Peruvian territory, 85% of our borders and more than 20,000 kilometers of rivers,” said Boria of the CCITL.

Thus, the objective of the forum, which will take place from Thursday, June 8 to Friday, June 9 in the city of Iquitos at the Sombrero de Paja hotel, is to bring together more than 300 businessmen, authorities, academics, and communities to launch a “Strategic Plan for the Sustainable Development with Connectivity of the Peruvian Amazon: Vision to 2050”.

“We have the program 90% closed and we have already passed the official invitation to the president to open the event according to the protocol,” said Dyer, president of the Pro Amazonia Group. “There are 8 governors in the commonwealth and soon there will be 10 because Junín and Pasco are going to enter, Cuzco has already entered, which has 51% of the Amazon. We want to make this area — and this is what we are going to discuss in the congress — the most developed region and with the best quality of life in Peru by the year 2050 ”, he added.

Thus, in the congress whose motto is “For a Sustainable Development of the Amazon”, it will seek to promote a space for the exchange of experiences, promote investments and innovations for small, medium and large family, corporate and community enterprises.

What will be the panels of the IV Congress?

On the first day of the Congress (June 8) the following conferences will take place:

  • Theory and basic concepts for the Strategic Plan of our Amazon, 62% of the Peruvian territory
  • Global trends: climate change, low emissions, regulations and markets
  • Enabling conditions: sustainable Amazon connectivity, energy transition, renewable energy and natural resources

For the second day the talks are scheduled:

  • Financial resources: Green funds, trusts, soft credit lines, carbon credits and issuance of green bonds
  • Opportunities: Sustainable development of native communities and small businesses in the Peruvian Amazon.
