Exchange rate: dollar closes down at S/3.7620 this Friday, April 21

The exchange rate of the dollar closed the penultimate week of April downwards and stood at S/3.7620 this Friday the 21st, reported the Central Reserve Bank (BCRP).

The day before, the dollar had culminated at S/3.7650 and then progressed to S/3.7660 in the early hours of this Friday. In this way, the North American currency loses 0.08% against the Peruvian sol.

During the day, BCRP Overnight Deposits for S/ 826.4 million were placed at an average rate of 7.72% and 3-month Securities repos for S/ 500 million at an average rate of 8.49%. In addition, 6-month Public Treasury Deposits for S/300 million were placed at an average rate of 8.24%.

At the international level, the dollar Index (DXY) traded around 101.79 points, after most of the Latin American currency and stock markets operated with losses in the early hours of Friday.

This, as a result of international fear of risk after data in the US that strongly returned to expectations of recession, encouraging a demand for assets in dollars.
