Proinversión plans to award S/640 million in works for taxes this year

The Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (Proinversion) plans to award 19 projects this year for a total amount of S/620 million under the modality of works for taxes (OxI), said Denisse Miralles, director of the Directorate of Decentralized Investments. The initiatives are distributed in 11 regions and include sanitation works for S/293 million (47%), education for S/265 million (43%), among others. The largest committed amount is in Lime with three projects for a total value of S/295 million.

According to the official, one of the most important projects in this portfolio is the construction of the Santa Rosa bridge, roundabout access and overpass to the Jorge Chávez airport. In this case, the interested company is Intercorp-Urbi and it would be awarded in July of this year.

Five ministries promote OxI

Last Thursday, five ministries and the Regional Government of Cusco presented 129 investment projects for more than S/8,450 million, to be executed through OxI. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) presented seven projects for S/792 million; the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), 30 projects for S/226 million; the Ministry of the Interior, 26 works for S/629 million; the Ministry of Production, 13 projects for S/377 million; and the Ministry of Education, 18 projects for S/954 million. While the Regional Government of Cusco did the same with 35 projects for S/5,479 million.

Regarding the status of the initiatives, 71 are yet to be prioritized, 29 in idea, 11 with previous report, 8 are already prioritized, 6 in previous acts and 4 in formulation. 51%, with more than S/4,300 million, belong to the Transportation sector.
