The airline company Avianca has announced that it will start flying on the Quito-Cancun route from June 15.
This new operation, which is part of its expansion plan in the country, will have three flights a week on Airbus A320 aircraft.
It will enable the market to offer more than 4,000 available places per month.
The company indicated that the tickets are already on sale at avianca.com, points of sale and travel agencies nationwide, with a promotional price of $249 one way, including taxes.
“With this proposal, Ecuador and Mexico, two countries with a large exchange of tourists, will be just one flight away,” the company said.
This is the thirteenth direct route that the airline will operate until the middle of the year.
In March, the airline started with three routes: Quito-Medellín, Guayaquil-Medellín and Guayaquil-Cartagena, and plans to start flights between Quito and New York on June 1.
María Beatriz González, commercial manager of Aviance for Ecuador, said that in the first half of this year alone, they are opening five new routes to destinations that are very attractive to Ecuadorian travelers, but which also allow the expansion of this connection without flights to attract tourists of the region to know Ecuador.
