According to the research, the Basque average is above the Spanish average: in the State as a whole, 6.7 years of full salary are allocated to pay for housing.

By province, where an average mortgage on a 80-square-meter home takes the longest to pay off is Gipuzkoa with 9.8 years, followed by Bizkaia with 9 years and Álava with 8.8. Thus, the BAC is in third place in the ranking of autonomous communities that spend the most time paying a home mortgage behind the Balearic Islands (11.3 years) and Madrid (10.4).

Likewise, according to the study, in 2022 the price of housing stood at 2,913 euros/m2 in the BAC and 1,880 euros/m2 in Navarra. The state average was 2,051 euros.
