Executive has until April 10 to present a diagnosis on the pension system

The Executive Branch received an extension from the Economy Commission of the Congress after failing to deliver the diagnosis on the pension system, which should have been delivered on Monday, April 3.

Rosangella Barbarán (Popular Force), president of said parliamentary work group, explained that they have until next Monday, April 10, to submit this report.

“They have requested rescheduling through congressman Jorge Montoya (Popular Renewal), who has summoned them for April 10. We hope it will be fulfilled,” said Barbarán Reyes, who reminded the Executive that some legislators have to participate in the Multisectoral Commission that presides over the MEF.

A few days ago, in dialogue with La República, Barbarán specified that, if the Executive’s report continues to be delayed, “much more drastic decisions will be made.”

For his part, Montoya, who leads the group watching the pension reformhe assured that they work “in an impersonal way” and that he is concerned about “the desire to release individual projects that will obstruct the final project that can be released.”

Additionally, Congressman He foresees that by this June they will have “concrete results” to make a decision and develop the proposals. “Let’s be patient. Let’s not rush the issue, because nothing good will come out if we do it on the run,” he added.
