The largest Bizkaibus concessionaire (EMB) and the works council reached a preliminary agreement on the agreement on Monday until 2023 after certifying increases of more than 12% and finally get “major improvements for casual staff”as reported by CCOO Euskadi.

The preliminary agreement reached will be submitted this Tuesday for the consideration and vote of the EMB workers’ assemblies. “The objective has been met without any kind of transferssince all the demands that the CCOO has raised in the negotiation are collected”, the union has indicated, to close the Bizkaibus conflict after “forcing EMB to improve the proposal that was on the table”.

Besides the “full recovery” of purchasing power of salaries throughout the term of the agreement, “substantial improvements have been achieved that include the creation of permanent jobs, better working hours for people with part-time contracts, an increase in economic insurance coverage in the event of accident and the improvements in the transport of personnel, among other achievements”, he explained.

The president of the EMB Works Council, Juan Carlos González, has highlighted the behavior of the staff during all these months of strike. “Has been a behavior of 10 and we deserve a good agreement like the one we have signed. We said that we were not going to give in and we have achieved all our demands and some more,” he said.

The agreement is until 2023 and for next year the CCOO of Euskadi has announced that it wants go further” and to avoid situations of wage inequality, and other concepts between the Bizkaibus concessionaires “as has happened in the present conflict”.
