After three years, the festival that celebrates the cutting of the grapes in Paracas returns. Since Friday, March 31, different activities have been carried out for the fifth edition of the Vintage.
According to Eduardo Jáuregui Cabrera, president of the Paracas Chamber of Tourism and Commerce (Capatur), it is expected to collect approximately US$500,000 in sales to boost the tourism sector.

“Today (Saturday, April 1) the hotels are at 90%, before Easter they were low, but now we see an upward trend, it is possible that at night we will reach 100%”, indicated to the Republic.

He also reiterated that they estimate to receive high income for the visit to the Ballestas Islands, the Paracas Nature Reserve and consumption in restaurants. Likewise, at the level of job creation, there is an average of 3,000 workers in the tourism sector, who would be working 100% for these dates.
Besides, the average tourist ticket for this Harvest of Paracas ranges from US$50 to US$70 per daydepending on hotel costs.
For the first day of the grape festival, in which the Queen of the Harvest contest and the wine fair took place, according to Capatur’s estimate, some 2,000 people attended, a figure that is expected to rise by the end of the festival.
