FTCCP marches this Tuesday, April 4, to demand an increase in the basic wage for workers

The Federation of Civil Construction Workers of Peru (FTCCP) announced a new mobilization this Tuesday, April 4, demanding a new increase in the basic wage.

Luis Villanueva, general secretary of the FTCCP, remarked that they have also proposed the construction of social housing to prevent low-income sectors from being affected by heavy rains by living in streams and on the banks of rivers.

“First we are demanding an increase in the basic wage from S/10 to S/12 soles for the operator, S/10 to S/11 for the officer, and S/10 for the laborer. This is taking into account that in recent times there has been a sustained increase in the values or provisions that make up the basic family basket, ”he said on the RCR program“ Specifically ”.

Villanueva indicated that they are also asking for an increase in the value or cost of the unified bonus for mobility. To do this, they plan to recognize S/12 per day for workers in the three categories.

“We all know that in recent times there has been an increase in the cost of urban and interurban fares. Likewise, when the worker works on a Sunday and a holiday, the same value is also recognized as a fare, that is, S/12 ”, he indicated.

A readjustment or increase for the high specialization bonus is being contemplated in the document that will be brought before the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE).

“It is for specialized operator workers, that is, workers who do electromechanical work, assemblers, surveyors, and other workers, who above all carry out their work in infrastructure work activities, which we commonly know as heavy works,” Villanueva said.

He stressed that they have proposed to the State the construction of social housing, to prevent low-income sectors from being affected by heavy rains by living in streams and on the banks of rivers.

“The authorities must face the consequences of natural phenomena, because we are in an area where the El Niño Phenomenon and the La Niña Phenomenon constantly affect our people,” he said.
