Interoperability between digital wallets such as Yape and Plin began on March 31. That is, users will be able to send and receive money between both platforms, as provided by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).
In this sense, the leader of the Yape Tribe, Rufino Arribas, pointed out that this mobile wallet has already carried out its first operations. “This week we have carried out the first 10,000 transactions between Yape and Plin,” he said.
In addition, he specified that the functionality is deployed to a limited group of yaperos. “As of April 12, we will share it with the 12 million yaperos“, he commented.
Service will continue to be free
The Yape representative explained that the conditions of mobile wallets will continue, including the limits of sending and receiving money. Also, he added that The service will remain free at all times.so these immediate transfers will not have any commission.
“Yape was born with the objective of being interoperable and free, so our yaperos must have the peace of mind that they will not be charged anything for transfers to other wallets,” he said.
He also pointed out that if the yapero has his cell phone number registered in more than one wallet, he must tell the person who will send him money in which wallet he wishes to receive it.
