Jorge Luis Prado Palomino is the new Minister of Production

This Wednesday the 17th, President Pedro Castillo took the oath to Jorge Luis Prado Palomino as head of the Ministry of Production. The new minister replaces José Roger Incio Sánchez, who chaired the portfolio since October 7, 2021.

Who is Jorge Luis Prado Palomino?

The Minister of Production, Jorge Luis Prado Palomino, is a public accountant from the University of Piura. In addition, he has a master’s degree in Business Management Audit and Control and a doctorate in Accounting and Financial Sciences from the San Martin de Porres University. In this last higher house of studies, he also works as a professor since 2015.

He was also part of the Banco Industrial del Peru. He has extensive experience as an accountant, auditor, and corporate internal audit manager at Corporación Grupo Romero.

Why is José Incio no longer the owner of the Production portfolio?

After 42 days in office, former Minister of Production Roger Incio, who joined the cabinet together with Mirtha Vásquez, left office this Wednesday, November 17. The information was revealed by the Presidency of the Republic through a statement. However, the reason for his removal was not specified.

The former head of the portfolio is a member of Popular Action and, before being sworn in, requested his party license. His appointment was criticized by members of the acciopopulista bench, who even contemplated initiating an internal procedure against him.
