Leasing Bond: more than 7,000 homes registered for a S/500 subsidy for landslides

A total of 7,271 homes in Lime and the north of the country have been registered by the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS) for the delivery of the S/500 Rental Bonus, aimed at families affected by the passage of mudslides and storm overflows.

The Vice Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Hernán Navarro, specified that the registry could grow in the coming days, since there are approximately 3,309 houses declared destroyed and 3,962 houses declared uninhabitable.

“That is our target audience for the bond, we are talking about approximately 7,271 bonds. This information can be adjusted,” he sent to RPP Noticias.

The MVCS reported that the first beneficiaries will be the households located in Lima and in the departments of Lambayeque and La Libertad. For this purpose, the municipalities must fill out the registers to find out who are those affected who need the S/500 Leasing Bonus.

“The first requirement is that the house be declared uninhabitable by the municipalities, after there is no double ownership. The bonus only applies to the owners of the house or possessors of it,” explained the official.

In Lima, Cieneguilla is one of the first districts that has 51 people registered and that have passed the corresponding filters to apply the bonus.

“One of the difficulties we have in the midst of the emergency is how difficult it is for the crews, not only from the ministry, but from the municipalities, to reach the areas, there are many roads that are closed and access is difficult. But now We have received some standards that allowed us to launch the first call yesterday in the case of Cieneguilla, where the information is being collected,” stated Navarro.
