Gore Lambayeque would spend S/62,000 in a forum for a port terminal despite an emergency due to rains

Lambayeque is the region that lost the most in trade and services in the national territory as a result of the rainy what left 15,254 victims, who need urgent attention, which means budgetary efficiency. Despite this critical scenario, the regional government promotes the forum by the port terminal, which would mean a spending of S/62,000 to develop activities this March 24 at Lobos beach in Puerto Eten, which ranges from awning service with a metal structure to the preparation of snacks and executive lunches.

According to Resolution No. 010-2023, the Lambayeque Regional Port Authority (APRL) approved the plan of activities for the forum called “Promoting the Lambayeque port terminal megaproject”, and emphasizes that it is the responsibility of the regional entity to manage and guarantee the financial resourcess to carry out the scheduled activities.

Expenses per event

The document indicates that the projected budget is S/62,000which breaks up in preparation for lunches executives and drinks (includes waiters and household items) for S/13,500, preparation of snacks for S/3,000, rental and installation of LED screens for S/4,130, sound installation for S/4,720, printing of promotional material for S/8,500 and snacks for S/ 3,000.

The highest amount of S/21,240 corresponds to toldado metal structure, while electric generator and decoration of flowers S/3,000, among others.

The regional councilor, Juan Pablo Hornaregretted this situation and indicated that it is not correct when there is an emergency declaration due to rains, needs of the population and when the socioeconomic study of the Puerto Eten maritime terminal need to update.

“This expense would be justified if the president Dina Boluarte that is invited to this event, announces more than S/60 million for the Public Private Alliance (APP) for the project”, emphasized Juan Pablo Horna.

The Republic spoke with the regional governor Jorge Perez, who assured that this event is of great importance to promote the port terminal, although S / 62,000 will not be spent. However, his response was not conclusive regarding the investment in the rain emergency. “The previous efforts did nothing for the maritime terminal project”I note.
