Avianca adds an eighth plane to its fleet in Ecuador. It is an Airbus A320Neo with a capacity of 180 passengers that will soon fly on domestic and international routes, the airline reported, noting that the aircraft carries the recently presented retro image of Aerogal.

The aircraft, which has a range of up to 6,300 km, incorporates the latest air navigation technologies, which enables more sustainable operation with 20% savings in fuel consumption and CO2 reduction.

Avianca will fly direct from Guayaquil to Medellín and Cartagena in March 2023.

In addition, the company indicated that the arrival of this aircraft is in line with the next start of flights that the airline will have to Medellín, Cartagena and New York.

“Offering more direct connectivity within the country and the region is a commitment that becomes more concrete with the arrival of this aircraft and the recent announcement of four new routes in the coming weeks,” said Juan Francisco Ortiz, ground officer from Aviance to Ecuador.

The aircraft has a new cabin configuration defined by Avianca for its aircraft that offers three types of seats: premium, plus and economy.

Currently, the Ecuadorian fleet consists of six Airbus A320 aircraft, one Airbus A319 and the new Airbus A320Neo adding approximately 1,500 seats flying daily to and from destinations operated by Avianca Ecuador.

In addition, the airline has flights to five domestic destinations: Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca, Manta, San Cristóbal and Baltra and operates eleven direct international routes.
