Iñaki Arriola’s counselor considers it positive that all the communities interested in the development of the High-Speed Atlantic Corridor are joining forces to pressure and avoid its delay. Moreover, he has assured that “it would be opportune” for the EU to ask the French government to be responsible so that it meets the dates set. He has insisted that the development of this rail corridor is not a bilateral matter between France and Spain, but rather affects the strategic planning of the EU. “The commitments are not from the governments but from the states, whoever is there should comply with them,” he added.

Specifically, the connection with France will be one of the topics to be discussed at the meeting of the Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarre Euroregion that is being held today in Donibane Garazi.
In an interview with Radio Euskadi’s “Boulevard” program, Arriola pointed out that if the “investment effort” is maintained, the High Speed Train (TAV) works will be completed in 2027 with provisional solutions for the entrance to Vitoria-Gasteiz and Bilbao. The tram to Salburua will be running from April 11
In that same interview, Arriola announced that the new tram to Salburua will come into service on April 11. That first day, in addition, the service will be free.
Likewise, between April 1 and 11, the so-called “blank march” will take place, which will simulate the new commercial service without passengers to check the real times and the correct operation of all the systems.
