The inter-union LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK have called the workers of the Osakidetza cleaning service to strike another two weeks for the agreement, from March 20 to April 2, within the framework of their mobilizations to get the unblocking of the negotiation of the agreement and the approval.

The workers of the cleaning service subcontracted by Osakidetza, who carry five years without agreementhave gathered this Thursday, at 11:30 a.m., in front of the headquarters of the Labor Relations Council (CRL) in Bilbao, where the union representation has met with the service concessionaire companies, without reaching an agreement.

From the inter-union LAB, UGT, CCOO and ESK they have recalled that the workers began the negotiation of the new agreement in 2018, “convinced that this was going to be a simple negotiation, since being approved with the Osakidetza staff meant having only to adapt and update certain matters to the new agreements that have been reached within Osakidetza”. But, as they have lamented, “after the innumerable meetings held, the absolute blockade of the negotiation is evident.”

“The absolute blockade of the negotiation is evident”

The unions have denounced that both the companies and Osakidetza “are breaking the approval principle by refusing to adapt and apply to us the different subjects applied to Osakidetza’s own personnel”.

The trade union centrals have specified that they do not demand “issues that go beyond approval”, but “simply” that “the same conditions be applied to Osakidetza’s own personnel based on the principle of approval” in order to, in this way, “to have access to the different calls for professional careers, a broader and fairer system for covering vacancies, access to partial retirement linked to the relief contract, permits and licenses that Osakidetza staff already have recognized”.

After denouncing that Osakidetza “has not deigned” to respond to the proposals of the union representation to try to unblock the situation, they have also criticized the mediator appointed by the Basque Health Service who has transferred “a poor, imprecise and concise proposal that is insufficient and that leaves many questions in the air”.
