They postpone payment of taxes and annual declaration: until when will it be and who can access it?

because of the natural disasters that affect various regions of Peru as effect of cyclone Yaku, the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported that a large group of taxpayers you will benefit from the extension of your tax responsibilities, such as the sworn declaration and the payment of taxes. Tax extension and declaration: until what month can I pay?

The date extension that covers up to three months will allow taxpayers to have enough space to recover and meet urgent needs demanded by the emergency caused by the Cyclone Yaku. However, it should be noted that there are two types of extensions:

  • About statements and monthly tax payments that expire from March to July 2023: now it will be possible to declare and pay from June to August 2023.
  • On Annual Income Statement 2022 which expires in March and April 2023: it may be declared and pay until June 2023.

Extension for 3 months of tax obligations: who can access?

The people who will benefit from the postponement for three months of the annual declaration and payment of taxes will be the businessmen who are in the areas declared in emergency.

The Superintendency Resolution No. 051-2019 points out that, before the declaration of State of Emergency due to natural disastersthose taxpayers who have tax domicile in any of the affected towns automatically receive the extension of their tax obligations.

Cyclone Yaku: what are the regions declared in emergency?

Let us remember that by decree it was declared in state of emergency various districts of Arequipa, Tumbes, Cajamarca, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Áncash, Apurímac, Huánuco, Ica, Lima, among others, to which new localities could be added due to the impact of damage. These jurisdictions may also extend the due dates of their declarations and payments.

In addition, in all the exposed cases, the expiration schedule will be considered. based on the last digit of the RUC of each taxpayer.
