The ID account of the National bank, since its creation in 2021, it has allowed millions of Peruvians to enter the financial system, mainly for access to the social programs offered by the Government to the most vulnerable populations.
In this regard, the president of the Banco de la Nación, Juan Carlos Galfre, indicated that although the project is currently underway, it is now in an improvement process. “The DNI account has been working, there are some technical things that we are improving, perfecting. It is a product that we are offering to the population and it has a series of advantages, but it’s on the mend at the moment“he commented to The Republic.
The highest authority of the financial entity also remarked that the objective of the ID account is to reach the entire population over 18 years of age. In addition, he added that in the future it is expected that “every Peruvian who is born will have their DNI Account (…) for when they need it”, for example, to receive a benefit from the State.
In this regard, Galfré explained that this initiative would be possible in coordination with the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec).
He also indicated that they are evaluating the scope that the DNI Account will have in 2023. “We are seeing what level we will reach this year. We do not have the data, but it depends on certain technical adjustments that we are making. We are going to advance little by little “, he stated.
