The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) ordered, through the authorities in charge of the sector, to incorporate Junín into the massification plan of the natural gas by virtue of the order issued by the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo.
“With this decision we are going to fulfill the objective of this government of the people to achieve that the massification of natural gas takes place in the fastest and most effective way, favoring low-income families ”, underlined the head of the Minem Eduardo González Toro.
Likewise, he reaffirmed that the new natural gas massification policy contemplates the development of network and pipeline infrastructure in the regions, with agile construction mechanisms.
On the latter, the Minem He stressed that the construction of the infrastructure would be done in two stages. In a first, the regions of Ayacucho, Ucayali and Cusco will benefit, which are regions with easier access to natural gas. The second stage includes the Puno, Junín, Huancavelica and Apurímac regions, thus completing the seven regions that will be prioritized at the beginning of this plan.
According to the bill that seeks to accelerate the arrival of gas to the regions, Petroperú will be in charge of these tasks with money from the Fise and / or Sise. Another central element is to create a compensation mechanism that will allow setting a single rate for natural gas for users, in order to reduce billing in the regions, equal to that of Lima and Callao, with which a single price will be paid for this resource across the country. It is also considered a petrochemical plant for fertilizers run by the State.
