The American chambers of Ecuador are joining the Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy, (ADD+USA-BC -for the acronym in English-), the Alliance announced in a press release from Washington.

The Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy brings together business leaders from member countries. It is a regional non-profit organization whose aim is to promote the common interest of the countries that make it up and cooperate in building the resilience of long-term supply chains through the support of trade and investment development initiatives among member countries.

The institution emphasized that the inclusion of the Ecuadorian private sector will contribute to economic progress, sustainable development and human rights in an atmosphere of respect for the rule of law in the sphere of the countries that make up the Alliance for Development in Democracy: Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

“The integration of Ecuador’s private sector into the Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy is an important step in its commitment to economic progress, democracy and the promotion of investment and cooperation with key partner countries in supply chains. supply,” noted Alliance for the Development of Democracy President Steven Puig.

For his part, Robert Moss, president of the Business Council of the Alliance for the Development of Ecuador, said that the private sector is the engine of the nation’s development “this opportunity to join forces among the private sector of our nations, where together we promote development in democracy, an environment of greater prosperity and strive together for a sustainable , fair and inclusive development, is unique and we must use it”.

RocΓ­o Velarde, President of the Board of the Ecuador-American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), indicated that Ecuador’s integration into the Council will allow its business leaders to exchange experiences and knowledge with their counterparts in the region, as well as participate in joint projects and high-level dialogues that promote sustainable socioeconomic development of the countries that make up the Alliance.
