Hernando Cevallos on the announcement of new measures: “We need to take care of workers who were vaccinated”

The head of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Hernando Cevallos, spoke in reference to the new measures ordered by the Government, through Supreme Decrees No. 167-2021-PCM and No. 168-2021-PCM, in which it is established that from December 15, companies will only be able to resume their face-to-face work with their fully inoculated workers, in order to promote immunization against COVID-19 in Peru.

Along these lines, in dialogue with RPP Noticias, he was asked what would happen to those collaborators who do not want to be inoculated. “It will be a problem”Cevallos pointed out. He also referred that “It is complicated because the responsibility of taking care of oneself and collectively taking care of those who are next to one is not assumed”, he specified.

He acknowledges that a decision had to be made to stop the start of the third wave and thus protect the population that did get immunized. “We need to take care of society, of the workers who did get vaccinated. If we don’t make these decisions, the same thing will happen to us as last year “, he emphasized.

Minister Cevallos revealed that currently there is 15% to 20% citizenship At the national level, they do not want to be inoculated because they still have doubts about the doses that are applied in our country or also because they reside in remote places, among other reasons.

“There is a percentage of the population between 15% and 20% who are not people who have a position of ‘I do not want to be vaccinated’ for different reasons because they have really scared them. But this percentage is for different reasons: because they do not have information and need more information, they live in remote places, their work does not give them facilities to get vaccinated (…). TO this sector is the one that in the first instance we want to get to vaccinate it properly “, he stated.

Among other information, he announced that it has been arranged that all the inoculation premises in the country be opened to promote massification and proximity to the vaccine, also, he made reference to the entry into closed spaces only to immunized citizens. “Vaccination is a social responsibility.
