Indecopi inspects Viva Air for affecting passengers after canceling its services

The institution has also requested more information from the MTC on the civil liability policies that Viva Air has to deal with the economic damage caused to consumers, among other details.

Given the cancellation of the operations of the airline Vivía Air, announced in a statement on Monday, February 27, Indecopi, through the Inspection Directorate initiated an investigation of said airline for the untimely suspension of its servicesin order to protect the interests of all consumers who could be affected.

He indecopi urged the airline Viva Air to comply with its obligation to provide clear, truthful and timely information to consumers about the services and products offered to them in the market, keep service channels active and refund the money for canceled tickets .

Likewise, from the Directorate of the National Consumer Protection Authority of Indecopi, information has been requested from the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), in order to know in detail the cancellation of operations of Viva Air, as well as the civil liability policies that it has to cover the economic damage caused to consumers.

Indecopi has been handling passenger inquiries since the night of February 27 at its local office located inside the Jorge Chávez Airport in Callao and also from today at the Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport in Cusco.
