The BonoGas program will reach schools in Lima and technical institutes for gastronomic or related training.
He Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) announced that this 2023 the benefits of the massification of natural gas will be expanded with the aim of reaching the school population and students of higher education institutes.
Thus, it is contemplated to extend the scope of the BonoGas program, of the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE), to reach more educational institutions in Lima and other regions in the north and center of the country, progressively replacing the use of conventional gas to gas natural.
“This year we want to give a discount of S/43 per ball exchanged in schools and other social entities, helping them to obtain savings that allow them to have new resources that they can use to expand their benefits for the benefit of children and young people in training” , explained Carlo de los Santos La Serna, general director of Hidrocarburos del Minem.
In addition, Minem projects that FISE and its BonoGas program also pay for the installation of natural gas in Productive Technical Education Centers (Cetpro), where productive training in gastronomy, bakery or similar activities is carried out, so that there is a cheaper energy source for technical-occupational training.
It should be noted that to date 1,016 social institutions, including 52 schools, have benefited from the connection and natural gas facilities. By the end of 2023, the program seeks to benefit more than 1,700 social institutions in the regions of Lima, Callao, Ica, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Áncash, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna.
Likewise, in regions or areas where there are still no natural gas networks, the LPG Discount Voucher program has been resumed, the application of which has been suspended since 2020 due to the fact that there were no face-to-face classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and with which could help more than 23,000 educational centers with the program.
