Two operators of 53 and 58 years have been injured, one of them with a very serious prognosis after suffering burns, in an accident that occurred at the Tubos Reunidos facilities in Amurrio (Álava), as reported by ELA in a statement.
The accident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Monday in an area where there were high-voltage devices while the two workers, from the subcontracted company Pine Installations and AssembliesThey did maintenance work.
As a result of the accident, about which this union is gathering more information, one of the workers has suffered very serious injuries, while the other has a “somewhat milder” prognosis. The first was transferred to the Hospital de Cruces.
ELA has encrypted in six the deaths of workers this year in Hegoalde and has denounced that “the work overloads imposed by subcontractors, the high pace and the dangerousness of the tasks cause dozens of accidents and deaths a year”.
“Neither companies nor the Government invest enough money in preventive and occupational safety, nor do they attach the importance it has to training. Money and benefits prevailahead in the well-being of the workers”, has censured this trade union center.
