The Minister of Transport and Communications, Juan Francisco Silva Villegas, announced the expansion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima. The capacity of the air terminal will be tripled with a global investment of US $ 1,200 million through the concessionaire Lima Airport Partners (LAP).

The work will begin in the fortnight of December and is projected to culminate in January 2025. The head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), promised to US $ 700 million for the design and construction of the new passenger terminal.

Through a press release, the MTC announced that This large-scale project will generate more than 3,500 jobs and benefit more than 17,000 families in 46 neighboring towns to the airport through social programs implemented by the LAP concessionaire.
