BCRP: business expectations are more pessimistic with Dina Boluarte

Indicators on the perception of economic and sectoral development, demand, hiring of personnel and investments fell more than during the last month of the Government of Pedro Castillo.

During January, business expectations and the current situation of the local economy, which is measured by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) through a survey, fell to levels higher than those registered last November, when Pedro Castillo was still in government. .

In detail, it was verified that the businessmen, during January, expect that in the short and long term the economy will march in a more pessimistic stretch with Dina Boluarte (see chart).

Meanwhile, it is expected that the situation of the companies in 12 months will improve very little (from 54 to 55 units) and that the demand for their products will remain intact (56 units).

However, the sector, in the immediate future, sees its performance a little more complicated in the second month of Boluarte as head of state.

Likewise, it is specified that the current situation of your business, sales, production, demand and purchase orders, compared to the previous month, continued to contract during the first month of 2023.
