Distributors have not had the resource for more than 15 days. Now, the long lines are made in the packaging in search of the gas balloons.
Unlike other days, the domestic gas distributors in Cusco looked empty, without the presence of users who woke up to get a ball of precious fuel. Perhaps resigned by the shortage of the product.
Another scenario was observed in the packaging plants located on the outskirts of the city, where hundreds of people attended despite the nationwide strike.
According to what was reported by Modest Cajigas, president of the Association of Gas Distributors of Cusco, in the bottling plant Huampar in Poroy30 minutes from the city, the 10-kilo ball is priced at S/57.
The leader reported that it is possible that this Friday, February 3, a shipment of LPG will enter the distributors to meet the demand in the town.
Cajigas stated that in his establishment the ball will be offered for 70 soles, in case of stocking up. “We haven’t worked for 15 days, we have to pay the staff, we are losing,” he justified the increase in the product.
On the other hand, he denounced that unscrupulous individuals monopolize the queues to obtain up to four balls and resell them for approximately S/200.
scarce coal
Given the lack of gas, families from Cusco opted for other alternatives, such as the use of firewood that is priced at S/17 per arroba (12 kilos), as well as coal at S/4 per kilo. This last input began to be scarce due to the demand since it is brought from Mother of God, whose road is blocked.
