The mortgage credit registered a growth of 7.9% in 2022, compared to the result of 2021. Meanwhile, the monthly variation of December 2022 was 0.2%, reported the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).
According to the entity, this type of credit was being favored by the increase in mortgage loans granted in soles, whose growth rate was 9.5%. In monthly terms, mortgage credit in soles increased by 0.3% in December 2022.
Maritime freight to Peru fell in 2022
On the other hand, the BCRP reported that the import maritime transport freight to Peru dropped to an average of
US$119 per MT as of December 2022, which represented a decrease of 32.8%, compared to the same month of the previous year.
Likewise, imports from China reached an average freight of US$217 per MT, lower by 55.9% during the months in question.
Regarding food freight, these register a moderation, observing an average freight in December of US$51 per MT. This result represents a decrease of 24.3% compared to December 2021.
