Cajamarca Carnivals: more than 40,000 tourists are expected to receive

S/40 million soles will be generated in the February festivities. Despite the sociopolitical upheaval, hotels have already captured 100% of their reservations.

Cajamarca aims for the reactivation of tourism despite the sociopolitical crisis, and expects to receive more than 40,000 local and foreign tourists during the carnivals of the Cajamarca region.

According to Wilder Narro, manager of the Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca, carnivals represent “a party of merriment where our joy is shown to Peru and to the world.” Thus, they estimate that S/40 million will be generated to float the regional economy hit by the pandemic.

In addition, they guaranteed that 100% of the capacity of the hotels is already reserved, including lodgings and family houses. It is worth noting that the Cajamarca carnivals will be held from February 18 to 22.
