The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) resolved the return of Diesel BX for vehicular use to the Fund for the Stabilization of Prices of Fuels Derived from Petroleum (FEPC), as an auxiliary measure to alleviate the prices of this fuel, hit these days due to the international oil crisis. This comes in line with the agreements reached after the announcement Carrier stoppage.
Through Supreme Decree No. 025-2021-EM, the list of products subject to the FEPC was modified, which aims to prevent the high volatility of crude oil prices and its derivatives from being passed on to consumers.
“It is understood as Diesel BX intended for vehicular use to the one sold through establishments that sell fuels to the public or purchased by direct consumers registered in the Hydrocarbons Registry, ”the document states.
Direct consumers whose main economic activity corresponds to the provision of the transport service of people and / or goods, duly authorized and / or authorized by the competent national, regional and / or local authority are within the scope of this standard. .
However, companies that carry out exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and mineral resources, as well as the processing of hydrobiological resources and the manufacture of cement, are excluded.
Diesel BX returns to FEPC
It should be noted that the Import Parity Price (PPI) corresponding to November 8, 2021, with a decrease of S / 0.35 per gallon, is considered as the upper limit of the Target Price Band of Diesel BX destined for use vehicular.
The update of the Target Price Band for Diesel BX for vehicular use is carried out on the last Thursday of each month, as long as the PPI is above the upper limit or below the lower limit of the band, according to the established criteria. The first update will be made on the last Thursday of January 2022, which, exceptionally, will come into effect as of February 1, 2022.
