The president of the Minister council, Mirtha Vásquez, affirmed that his management will seek to “relate” in a good way with the mining companies to discuss the higher income tax as proposed by the Executive in the bill on delegation of powers in tax matters.
“We can enter into a better relationship where mining companies and we sit down to talk as a State and see how we can establish a better way of relating. Not only they economically with the State, but also with the communities, let’s see it as an opportunity ”, declared the premier in dialogue with Punto Final.
It should be noted that after the announcement of the project, many mining companies have shown their opposition to it by ensuring that they are the sector that contributes the most.
When asked about it, the premier admitted that mining is one of the sectors that pays the highest income; but he also affirmed that “there are many mining companies that do not do so and that they have outstanding debts for many years.”
“This government has started by demanding that they pay their debts like Buenaventura, which after many years had to do so,” he said.
Along the same lines, he recriminated that some companies have gone to the Judiciary to avoid paying their taxes.
“I think there are things that in reality, because of their responsibility, they should not put so many obstacles to pay for something that is an obligation,” he said.
Likewise, the former president of Congress clarified that a higher income will not be imposed on a company or person that earns more than S / 25,000 if it is currently not able to do so.
