Food Bonus 2023: who are the beneficiaries?

  • People in a situation of poverty or extreme poverty, according to the Household Targeting System (Sisfoh).
  • Households without income or form private or public payroll, including pensioners and the formative modality.
  • Households whose income does not exceed the amount of the minimum living wage of S/ 1,025.00.

The Midi reported that since last Wednesday, November 2, 2022, the payment of the Food Bonus of 270 soles aimed at 4.2 million people in a situation of economic vulnerability due to the rise in prices of the basic basket.

“I want to communicate that today we begin to pay the Food Bond of S/ 270 per person, this will reach 4.2 million people,” announced Dina Boluarte, head of Midis.

  • Group 1: from Wednesday, November 2, beneficiaries who have an authorized bank account, and also those who have active digital wallets such as Yape, Tunki and Agora, will be able to receive 270 soles.
  • Group 2: from November 9, the beneficiary group made up of people who live in remote communities and without an adequate infrastructure of the financial system, will be able to charge through the pay carts of the value transport companies.
  • Group 3: this group made up of citizens who do not have a bank account nor do they have a cell phone number in their name, according to the Midis, will be able to go to the windows of the Banco de la Nación nationwide, after calling the toll-free line 101 to receive confirmation of the payment of the 270 soles.
  • Group 4: from November 24, beneficiaries who do not have bank accounts enabled, but who must create and open a digital wallet, will be able to collect the Food Bond.

How long can I collect the Food Bonus?

The Midis has already announced, through its official channels, that users will have until April 2023 to apply for the subsidy. If not collected, the money will return to the Banco de la Nación.

What happens if I don’t collect the Food Bonus 2023?

Beneficiaries can collect this money until the month of April of the year 2023. After the established time, the established money will be transferred to Banco de la Nacional and will return to the entity from which it came.

The Government offers online help in the following cases:

  • Possible impersonation. If you have never registered a cell phone number, but one appears in your name on the platform. It also applies if you registered and your cell phone was stolen or requested before the validation code arrived.
  • Financial entity does not have the deposit. You may have approached the bank to collect the Food Bond, but they did not have the individual monetary subsidy.
