The Adecco Group’s study and dissemination center has published the data referring to July, August and September 2022. These data also detail that the accident rate decreased by 21% compared to the same period in 2021.
Adecco Group Institute has published the quarterly report on absenteeism and workplace accidents referring to the third quarter of 2022, according to which the CAV has the highest work absenteeism of the State, 9.8%. Navarra follows with 8.3%. In both cases, there has been a rise of just over 1 percentage point in the year-on-year data.
However, the director of the study center Javier Blasco has contextualized the data, explaining that the absenteeism rate “is due in this third quarter, mainly, to the significant reduction in effective agreed hours, due to the effect of summer vacations” .

The data of absenteeism due to temporary disability it was somewhat lower than the three summer months. The rate stood at 7.4% in the BAC, 1.2% higher than the previous year, and is also the highest in the State.
Breaking down the data by sector, it should be noted that the sector most affected by absenteeism is industrial both in the Basque Country and in Navarra. They are followed by the construction and services sectors.
Lower workplace accidents
The report published by the study and dissemination center of The Adecco Group explains that the occupational accident rate it decreased by 21% in Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia and Araba in the same period, third quarter of 2022, compared to the same period of 2021.
Thus, the incidence of accidents during the working day is 214 per 100,000 inhabitants, the third lowest in the State, where the incidence is 234. In Navarra, the figure is higher than the state average and is 291 per 100,000 inhabitants.

By sectors, the hardest hit is construction, followed by industry and the agricultural sector, while the lowest levels are found in the services sector.
Finally, focusing on the incidence of commuting accidents in the BAC the rate is 25 accident victims per 100,000 inhabitants.
