The head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), Betssy Chavez, reported this Saturday that they are implementing an Itinerant Registry of People with Disabilities of Working Age, in order to insert this group of compatriots – who comprise 10% of the population – into the labor market.
Chávez noted that with this registry it will be possible to obtain reliable data about people with disabilities at the regional, provincial and district levels so that they not only have access to job offers, but also to training courses.
Along these lines, he recalled that our country already has the Employment and People with Disabilities website, which has international accessibility standards.
“We are making efforts to virtualize various processes that were previously manual, so we will soon have a web system for the registration of promotional companies for people with disabilities, as well as a new job bank,” added the official.
Likewise, Chávez indicated that the Bank of Reasonable Adjustments Cases was also enabled, an online tool that offers a repository of cases of good labor practices carried out by various institutions and companies in our country.
Correct the Conadis
In turn, during the First Presidential Meeting with the Social Organizations of People with Disabilities, the president Pedro Castillo He pointed out that Peruvians with disabilities cannot be discriminated against, so they will take concrete actions to improve opportunities.
“That is why I need, Madam Minister, a representative of these men and women here in the office for the ministry. We are going down to the regions, not just to meet them. Enough of speeches, enough of meetings. They have to assume a responsibility and exercise one in defense of their rights. For that we call them, not for the photo, not for this meeting, but so that they have direct access to work, to dignified treatment, to respect, ”said the head of state.
In addition, Castillo acknowledged that they will “correct” the performance of the National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (Conadis).
“We believe it is important that if Conadis has to be corrected, it will be corrected, if something has to be corrected, we will correct it and we believe that Conadis has to start working and recognize all people with disabilities,” he said.
