The Guayaquil Port Terminal (TPG) announced the start of a new service called Américas LX, whose main objective is to have a direct connection between the east coast of the United States and the west coast of South America.
This service, which is provided by the shipping company CMA-CGM, was inaugurated this week with the arrival of the ship Dimitris C.
Guayaquil Port Terminal invested $11 million in a super post-panamax gantry crane, the most modern and longest-reaching in the country and the region
The new route is designed to transport perishable products and fresh fruit in containers, as it offers optimal coverage and competitive transit time from South America to the United States.
The large ships that will call at the TPG dock every week are 100% operated by the shipping company CMA-CGM. The rotation of the Americas XL service will be Port Everglades-Philadelphia-New York-Kingston-Buenaventura-Callao-San Antonio-Guayaquil-Cartagena-Port Everglades.
“International trade is dynamic and is strengthened when there are direct connections, as is the case of the Americas XL service, because product transfer times are reduced, which contributes to productive and commercial efficiency, favoring the economy of the countries” , highlighted the general manager of the TPG, Luisenrique Navas.
