A total of 49,413 people were holders of the Income Guarantee Income at the end of December, 5334 less than a year before (-9.75%)chaining seven consecutive months below 50,000, a figure similar to the first year of recognizing this right in 2009 and the lowest since Lanbide took over this benefit in 2012.

The decline has been gradual since February 2021, when the job recovery phasewhich in the year just ended has exceeded the maximum number of Social Security affiliations and whose final figure will be known this Tuesday.

Despite this reduction, Lanbide offers coverage to 9866 more people who are entitled to the Minimum Vital Incomebut not to the RGI, thanks to the single window created when the Basque Government assumed the transfer of said benefit.

In this way, 2022 has ended with 19,794 files that recognize the right to the IMV in the Basque Autonomous Community, of which 9928 can complement it with the RGI.

The new Law on the Guaranteed Income and Inclusion System provides for the incorporation of people who now cannot access this benefit, and the budget for this will be €565 million20% more than what was executed this year.
