In the first nine months of the year, the accumulated amount of money movement of negotiable invoices amounted to 15,609 million soles, which represents an advance of 79% compared to the same period last year, reported the Ministry of Production (Produce ).
The head of Produce, José Incio, said that up to the ninth month of the year a total of 653,520 invoices were negotiated, a figure 66.8% higher than that registered in the same period of the previous year.
“Financing through negotiable invoices has gained market share. In 2015 it represented only 0.2% of business credit and in September of this year it already represents 8.3% ”, he highlighted.
Incio Sánchez specified that to date there are more than 12,281 micro and small companies (mypes) that have been financed through negotiable invoices, representing 82.9% of all companies that used this mechanism.
“These mypes belong to the sectors of Services, Commerce, Industry, Construction, Agriculture, Mining and Fishing, which gives us an idea that these companies are looking for new forms of affordable and cheap financing to reactivate their businesses. From Produce we will continue promoting these alternatives ”, he added.
Lima accounts for 83.1% of the negotiated amount of negotiable invoices. They are followed by Callao, La Libertad, Arequipa, Piura and Ica; meanwhile, the regions with the least participation are Huancavelica and Madre de Dios.
