Congress: 10 more years of Extraordinary Tax for Tourism Promotion and Development

With 92 votes in favor, the Plenary of the Congress of the Republic approved, in the first vote, the replacement text of bills 596, 3505, 3707 and 3798, which modify Law 27889, Law that creates the Fund and the Extraordinary Tax for the Promotion and Development of National Tourism.

The joint device proposes extending for 10 more years the benefit of this law implemented in 2003 during the government of former President Alejandro Toledo.

This tax was created to finance activities and projects for the promotion and development of national tourism.

The tax is applied to all national or foreign natural persons who enter the national territory, using means of air transport for international traffic.

The amount of the tax amounts to US$ 15 and is consigned and collected jointly through all tickets or airfare tickets.
