The mixed commission of the Economic Agreement will meet today Tuesday, starting at 5:30 p.m. and electronically. Pedro Azpiazu, Minister of Economy and Finance, Olatz Garamendi, Minister of Public Governance and Self-Government, Itziar Agirre, Deputy Minister of Finance and the general deputies of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, Ramiro González, Unai Rementeria and Markel Olano will participate in it.

According to what Councilor Azpiazu announced last Sunday in an interview with Radio Euskadi, “the agreement has not yet been fully closed”. However, he pointed out that the idea of the Basque Government is, on the one hand, to arrange the “complementary” tax on the Great Fortunes. “We have to arrange all the taxes that arise and this is a direct tax that we have to arrange with regulatory capacity.”

He added, in addition, that they must also reach “an agreement on how to implement what are not strictly taxes but are patrimonial benefits of a non-contributory nature, to see what it would correspond to us Basques to pay for these issues so that we let’s compensate, that is an agreement that is still pending”.

As he affirmed, today they will close it and now “no further progress can be made.” After the meeting, a press conference will be offered in which the agreements reached in the commission will be reported.
