LPG and domestic gas shortages persist in Arequipa: what is its price?

The purchase of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and domestic gas is still chaotic in the city of Arequipa. This Monday the 26th, dozens of taxi drivers formed long queues outside the faucet located between Jesús and Cairo avenues. This is due to the high demand for this fuel that has an average price of S/9.90 per gallon and is sold out in other service centers.

According to the URPI-LR report, the drivers formed queues very early with the aim of acquiring LPG and being able to work with their unit. However, this dragged on and they had to wait up to three hours to access the fuel.

The same situation is replicated in other taps in the city. According to Radio Yaraví, the sale of LPG was resumed at the Primax Cono Norte tap, in the vicinity of the Arequipa-La Joya highway, also at S/9.90.

Another sector that is affected are the families that cook their food with domestic gas. According to local media, Several distributors have high demand and in the case of Llamagas, in the Northern Cone, it was learned that it will only sell 150 cylinders of gas per day.

The same is happening in the Miraflores district, where neighbors denounced Exitosa that the company Llamagas would be giving priority to small distributors, instead of citizens who buy balls by unit. A sign was posted at the site stating that they do not have gas and that they would resume sales this Tuesday. The price of the 10 kilo ball is S/50.
