Exchange rate in Peru: how much it is trading today, Thursday, November 4, 2021

The price of the dollar is trading today, Thursday, November 4, at S / 4.0126, according to the Bloomberg portal; while in the parallel market it manages the prices of S / 3,980 for the purchase and S / 4,030 for the sale. It is important to note that the US currency closed the day yesterday, Wednesday, November 3, at S / 4.0140, as reported by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

Thus, last Wednesday the greenback registered a drop, as the BCRP sold US $ 230 million. The intervention of the economic entity was not enough amid the concerns generated by political uncertainty, protests against mining companies and the vote of confidence for the Cabinet chaired by Mirtha Vásquez that will take place TODAY, Thursday, November 4.

On the economic front, the president of the Judiciary, Elvia Barrios, took the oath of the ratified president of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP), Julio Velarde for the period 2021-2026. Likewise, Roxana Barrantes Cáceres, José Ignacio Távara Martín and Germán Alarco Tosoni were sworn in, who were appointed as members of the BCRP board of directors by the government. The Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, was also present at Velarde’s inauguration.

On the other hand, over the weekend the Antamina company, one of the main copper producers in Peru, announced the halt of its activities due to protests in the southern mining corridor. This stoppage will generate a loss of approximately US $ 14 million per day.
