The PeruRail company reported that from Thursday, December 22, all its operations will be restored, including the bimodal service (bus + train) that departs from the city of Cusco, since only trips from the south east are restarted, to and from Macchu Picchu. According to the company, this decision is made after confirming the safe transit for the transfer of passengers between Cusco and Ollantaytambo.
“The trains that operate the long route between Cusco and Machu Picchu, as well as the buses of the bimodal service (bus + train) in charge of PeruRail will transfer passengers from the PeruRail Vistadome Observatory, PeruRail Vistadome and PeruRail Expedition train services, according to their regular itinerary,” the company said in a statement.
Likewise, the company confirmed that the trains that usually have the Station of ollantaytambooperate normally on their regular itineraries.
However, they specified that the operation that covers the southern route Cusco – Puno – Cusco, will continue to be canceledso said service will not work until further notice from the company.
