The LAB union has affirmed that, for the second consecutive day, the strike called at the Amazon facilities in Valle de Trápaga (Bizkaia) has been “a complete success” and “it has not been able to distribute the 60,000 packages that it had planned to distribute in these Christmas dates”.
In a statement, LAB has stated that “in the face of the success and great follow-up to the strike, the response of Amazon and the Basque Government (PNV and PSOE) has been the same as always: send the Ertzaintza to repress the workers who have supported the strike”.
Thus, he has denounced that the Ertzaintza has “charged in a completely disproportionate way by beating and shoving, leaving three injured strikers in their wake, who have had to go to the emergency room.”

For its part, the Security Department has explained that about 40 people were part of a picket that prevented the access of the vans to the Amazon distribution center, some of which have tried to skip the police cordon, for which they have been identified.

LAB He has denounced that an agreement is applied to the staff that “does not adapt at all to the characteristics of their work”. Currently, the sectoral Collective Agreement for the transport of goods by road in Bizkaia is applied to the workforce. In addition, in the logistics center of Valle de Trápaga there are more than 300 delivery men from different subcontractors to whom the State Collective Messaging Agreement applies. The workers on strike demand their own agreement that includes different demands: salary revision, rearrangement of work shifts and days, adaptation of professional categories, etc.
The center has indicated that “job insecurity is rampant in Amazon Trapagaran”, and the casualties, which are “numerous and long-term”, are covered “through” temporary employment agencies.
