Chiclayo: sales of turkey, duck and chicken fell 80% a few weeks before Christmas

Just days before celebrating the Christmas holidays, in Chiclayo (Lambayeque), a considerable decrease is reported in the public that comes to buy turkeys, guinea pigs, ducks, among other animals for domestic consumption.

A brief tour of the Moshoqueque market, the main supply center of the region, allowed us to learn that the kilo of turkey ranges between 32 and 33 soles.

“Sales have decreased considerably, there are no people in these places, they are afraid because of the avian flu issue, but our Animals are native, from home and not from the farmTherefore, there are no symptoms of disease,” a merchant told La República.
