This has been pointed out by the counselor Arantxa Tapia after the weekly meeting of the council of the Basque Government, who added that this new “economic injection” will allow us to attend to around 290 projects”, of which 175 will be public sector projects and the rest private. Likewise, he added that With these aids “it will be possible to offer a better quality of life and not only to live, they will also increase the possibilities of work in the towns.”
The aid will be aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, investing in the creation, expansion and modernization of companies, supporting hiring by others, or for infrastructure, basic services and renovation of Leader towns.
The geographical scope of application is the Basque municipalities selected for the LEADER zone (a total of 122, in which more than 93,000 people live and which includes the most rural areas of Euskadi).
The Basque Government Minister pointed out that “the territorial balance and social cohesion of the Basque Country forms part of one of the lines of action of our Basque Green Deal, which means a sustainable development model that looks at aspects of decarbonisation, green economy, and social inclusion”.
