95% of interim firefighter candidates in Álava and Gipuzkoa fail the OPE

The 75% of the applicants for the first Joint OPE of firefighters for Gipuzkoa and Álava has failed the initial test. The test has generated controversy, since the 95% of interim firefighters have failed this first test and criticize that the exam model is not adapted to assess the job.

It is the first time that the arkaute academy has carried out a joint test to cover 114 places in Gipuzkoa and Álava.

The knowledge and aptitude tests were carried out in Irun (Gipuzkoa) and of the 1170 people that were presented have passed the 287 exams, that is, the 24.5%of which 269 ​​are men and 18 womenwhich will continue with the selection process to opt for the 46 places offered by the Álava Provincial Council and the 68 by the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.

Candidates who have passed this OPE, but who do not obtain a place will be included in the temporary job bank of the Basque Academy of Police and Emergencies to cover vacancies and substitutions in the parks of Álava and Gipuzkoa.

ESK has considered that the call was “full of legal irregularities” and has asked the Basque institutions that the Arkaute Academy “do not organize a fire OPE again since it has shown that it is not competent in this matter”.
